only for thin hair

The barrette is beautiful but holds very little hair due to the bending central bar taking up so much space, even fully compressed. I have lots of hair and I could only use it for a small portion of my hair. However, I took a dremel tool and cut out the unremoveable central compressing slide and have now freed up all the available space in the barrette; it now holds all my hair in a ponytail beautifully. I do wish that central bar was removable rather than of one piece requiring cutting out to use. As it is, it is only suitable for those with thin to normal hair or small portions of thick hair.

This clip is, as per all France Luxe clips I have bought, really well made & beautiful. I find it a bit tricky to use, given its shape, but once it's in it looks great. It really is only for a portion of your hair though, even for my fine hair.

Classy Upgrade from Scrungies!

This barrette is stunning. It is strong and holds all of my thick, graying hair. I was considering cutting my hair short. However, I am not since purchasing this in Onyx-- I am getting the blue one now.

I got it in the blue color to go with blue toned clothes. The shape of the clip looks so good with a half pony, especially if you have thick wavy (curly) hair like me. It just gives a really nice profile and contours the hair line perfectly.

This Cutout Oval Ponytail Barrette Classic in Onyx is not only beautiful, it is also strong and stays put. It is a little tricky to manoeuvre it into position at first, but it is worth the effort because once you get it right, it stays exactly where you put it. It closes with that solid "click" that you only get with barrettes that are made in France. Very good quality and really pretty - highly recommended for long, fairly thick hair.
