Beautiful but difficult to use

I bought these in two colors, the Black/Tokyo and Nacro/Black. Both are really beautiful. The problem is the clasps are hard to open and close and tend not to stay closed. When I compare them to France Luxe Barrettes I bought in the past, the clasp parts where it opens and closes are quite a bit larger on the previous barrettes even though the length of the clasp is the same. See photo. The previous ones open and close very easily and stay closed even with a lot of hair in them. Not so for these. I've bought this brand because of the quality of the clasps. I won't be buying them again. I'll probably keep these and try using them with less hair in them but I did expect them to hold as much hair as other barrettes that size and be easy to use. They are not.
